New Computer System for All RCLS Libraries
The computer catalog and circulation system used by the Greenwood Lake Public
Library was updated in December 2011.
The public access catalogs in the Library and at home have also changed. Two
new features include the ability to pay fines from home using a PayPal account,
and the ability to select a library location from which to pick up your holds.
Also, holds on newer restricted materials such as new books and DVDs are now
only available for a home library's users. Patrons will no longer be able to go to
another library's catalog from home and place a hold on the other library's
restricted materials; nor will patrons be able to go to another library and place a
hold on the other library's restricted materials through that library's public access
computers.
Previously, borrowing privileges were suspended when fines reach $15.00. The
new system uses $10.00 as the point at which borrowing privileges are suspended.
Lastly, if you lose an item, pay for it and then find it, you will have 31 days to
receive a refund. After 31 days, it cannot be refunded, but, of course, the material is
yours to keep.
We thank you for your patience with the library staff as they adapt to the new
system. If you have any questions, please contact Joan Carvajal, Library Director,
at (845) 477-8377, Ext. 103 or joan@gwllibrary.org.
