General Registration Information for All Programs
- Registration is required for all Adult, Young Adult, Children, and Family programs and may be done either in person or by telephone at (845) 477-8377 Ext. 101 (unless in-person registration is required where noted).

When noted, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Seating is limited; early registration is highly recommended.

For additional information about a particular program, please call the individual staff member as noted.

Patrons of all abilities are welcome to register for Library programs. If you are in need of assistance for a particular program, we request that you bring along a caretaker to assist you. Due to the time constraints for our programs, the Programmer is unable to offer individualized attention; thus, having a caretaker accompany you will be most helpful to you, as well as to the Programmer.
Summer Reading Program Volunteer Meeting
Friday, 4/20: Grades 7 & Up 3:30-4:30pm
Earn community service hours as a Summer Reading Program volunteer. You’ll also go on a great trip at the end of the Summer Reading Program. Pick up your volunteer application at this meeting. Only 30 spots available!
Rock Around the Block with The DirtMeister
Saturday, 4/21: Ages 11-17 1-2pm
Celebrate Earth Day with Steve Tomacek from “Science Plus.” Learn all about the geology of our world. After this interactive program, you’ll think rocks “ROCK!”
Introduction to Songwriting
Thursday, 5/17: Grades 5-12 6:30-8pm
Alice Leon, an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer, will teach you the fundamentals of pop songwriting, including lyrics, melody, and rhythm. When it’s complete, you’ll receive a finished studio MP3 version to download.
Magic: The Gathering
Wednesday Nights: Ages 13-17 7-8pm
Bring your own cards or use our sets of 2-player starter games to play this fantasy card game and on-line phenomenon! Bring your friends! Rule sheets available.
Light refreshments will be served.
Express Yourself; Get Crafty
Thursday Nights Until 8pm: Grades 5-12
Join us for a Do-It-Yourself Craft Night for tweens and teens. No registration necessary; just drop in! Projects are limited.
LEGO Library
Wednesdays, 4/4-4/25: Grades 5-12 5:30-6:30pm
This is not your little brother’s block set! We’ll provide the Lego set for this skill-building alternative to any electronic screen. Come see what both sides of your brain can do!
So You Want to Start Babysitting!
Saturday, 5/19: Grades 5-12 10am-12pm
The experts at the Child Care Council of Orange County will teach you some of the tools you’ll need to help keep children happy, safe & entertained while in your care.
Attendees will receive a Certificate of Participation by the Council.
Summer Reading Program
This year’s 2012 state-wide Summer Reading Program themes are:
Registration in the Summer Reading Program is required to be eligible to attend all other supplemental programs. Registration is ongoing and open to Greenwood Lake School District children. All children must have a valid Library card; new cards are available at the Front Desk!
